Troop 25's Chartered Organization is Custer Road
United Methodist Church of Plano Texas. For over 25 years the
troop has been active in the community, has monthly campouts
to various locations and attends summer camp yearly both in
the state of Texas and other parts of the United States.
The Troops has a goal to develop boy leaders and have trained adult
leaders who strive to provide an environment where the boys can not
only lead, learn new skills and visit new places, but do this in a
safe environment where their experiences will be fulfilling and
enjoyable.
Meetings:
7:30 PM every Monday

Campouts:
Monthly – usually the 3rd weekend of the month
Summer Camp:
Yearly to BSA camps in and out of Texas
Size:
Average 90 Scouts
Uniform:
Full BSA uniform (no neckerchief) required
Fundraisers:
Scouts are expected to participate in 2 annual
fundraisers.
Greenery and Popcorn, which helps fund troop operating expenses
and
boys individual accounts.
Parents:
Parents are expected to take an active role in their
sons scouting
years and participate in troop activities by
volunteering and
supporting the troop.
There are many
opportunities for involvement.
You can work 1 hour a week
or
more, but you will be called upon to
assist at some time.
Campouts:
Parents are
always welcome on all campouts and are strongly
encouraged
to
be involved and participate. Scouting and Camping
are fun.
Family
campout:
The troop has
one family campout annually where families
and siblings can get together and have fun plus experience what
a monthly
campout is like.
High Adventure:
Troop 25 has 1 or 2 High Adventure trips
yearly.
Past trips include:
Northern Tier Canoe Base in Minnesota and Canada boundary waters, Philmont
Scout Ranch and Double H Ranch in New Mexico and Sea Base in
Florida.
Summer
Camps Camp Alexander in Colorado; Camp Constantine in Texas;
Camp Orr in Arkansas;
Camp James Ray in Texas; Camp Thunder in Georgia.
Monthly Campouts: Feature opportunity to work on scout skills such as
orienteering,
rafting,
marksmanship, climbing and canoeing. In
addition, special
trips to Fort Washita, Schlitterbaun,
Vicksburg, Fort Hood and
Barksdale Air Force Base and many
more fun areas.
